“A protest on Durrës Street, adjacent to Skanderbeg Square, is currently ongoing and has turned violent due to stone-throwing. The protest could spread to nearby blocks and government buildings, potentially leading to an increased police presence, traffic disruptions, diversions and road closures,” the embassy’s notice states.
American citizens are advised to avoid areas where demonstrations are taking place, remain vigilant and prioritize their personal safety above all else.
The embassy also asks them to monitor local media reports and follow the guidance of local law enforcement authorities for the latest information.
