“It came as a surprise to me as well. This morning they informed me that she had crossed the border without any authorization from the court. We had only intended to submit a new request, given a communication from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that Bulgarian doctors were expected to come and examine her. In this situation, the judicial process will move forward without her, and now our accident expert must testify, who will support the defense’s argument that Mihailova was not obliged to use that lane. It is thought that she acted in coordination with her lawyer from Bulgaria,” said Naser Raufi, Mihailova’s legal representative, for “Veçer.”
This morning, Bulgarian television “BTV” reported that Mihailova crossed the border accompanied by Bulgarian lawyer Nikolaj Dimitrov.
Meanwhile, Bulgarian President Iliana Yotova is awaiting the results of the medical assessment at Pirogov regarding the condition of 23-year-old Iva Mihailova, who was placed in Bulgaria after an institutional-legal dispute in North Macedonia, as she sought special therapy for injuries sustained in a serious road accident.
“We need to see how she is doing, to take the urgent steps we have insisted on throughout all these months – not only here in Bulgaria, but also before international institutions,” Yotova told “BGNES.”
