Greek police arrest at Kakavija person who presented a Chilean passport reported lost in Belgium

Greek police detained a person on Friday evening at the Kakavija border crossing.

Sources said that the foreign national, whose Albanian citizenship has not yet been established, presented himself to the Greek authorities and handed over a Chilean passport after passing through the customs checkpoint of the Republic of Albania.

A check of the system revealed that the document had been reported lost in Belgium. Following this discovery, the person was immediately arrested, while investigations are continuing to clarify the reason for possessing the passport and the purpose of entering Greece under a false identity.
