In the last parliamentary election, just under 52% of voters had cast ballots. This year, for the first time, residents of the occupied Ukrainian territories that Russia claims as its own were also included in the vote.

These territories include the regions of Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia. Their annexation by Moscow has been condemned by the international community.

The final figures are expected to show voter turnout and the level of support enjoyed by political parties in Russia. In the 2021 election, United Russia, Vladimir Putin’s party, secured around 49% of the vote.
