In a Facebook post, Deda said the withdrawal denied Kosovo the opportunity to have a different leadership approach at the helm of the state. According to him, it involved a figure who would place the state above the party, the Constitution above immediate interests, and public responsibility above personal ambition.
Deda stressed that, paradoxically, it was precisely the defense of the Constitution that came at a political cost to Sejdiu’s candidacy.
He added that, with this development, Kosovo lost the opportunity to demonstrate that it knows how to value people who do not place themselves at the center.
In conclusion, Deda raised the question of whether a path can now be found beyond the polarization, mistrust and hatred present among citizens.
