On Wednesday, following a trial that lasted 234 days, the final judgment will be announced.
Hashim Thaçi, the country’s former president, Kadri Veseli and Jakup Krasniqi, who previously headed Parliament, as well as former MP Rexhep Selimi, are facing allegations of war crimes and crimes against humanity.
All four have pleaded not guilty to all the charges brought by the Specialist Prosecutor’s Office.
The panel that will deliver this historic decision consists of four international judges: American presiding judge Charles Smith III, German judge Christoph Barthe, Swiss judge Guénaël Mettraux and Irish judge Fergal Gaynor.
