An 11-year-old girl of Polish origin was found unconscious in the swimming pool of a hotel in Platanias, Chania, on the island of Crete, and later died.

The girl was spending her holidays on the Greek island with her parents. According to reports, after she was pulled unconscious from the water, rescue teams intervened immediately and began efforts to revive her.
The girl was taken to the Emergency Department, where doctors continued attempts to resuscitate her, but their efforts were unsuccessful.
It is still unclear under what circumstances the 11-year-old ended up in the pool. Authorities have launched an investigation to clarify what happened.
