A serious crime has shocked Pennsylvania, after an 18-year-old student was allegedly stabbed to death by her boyfriend. After the incident, the young man is believed to have asked his mother for help hiding the body and erasing the evidence of the crime.
The body of Karoline Heintz was discovered in the trunk of an abandoned vehicle covered in bloodstains near the campus of PennWest University in California Borough.

According to the investigation, on the evening of Wednesday, August 19, Karoline Heintz met her boyfriend, Royce Mosher, in North Strabane Township. They were discussing their relationship and its future, while the 18-year-old was preparing to begin her first year as a member of the university’s women’s soccer team.
The conversation between them allegedly took a violent turn. Mosher told Heintz he had something to give her, went into the kitchen and took a knife. A few minutes later, he returned to the car and stabbed the young woman in the chest.
After the attack, authorities suspect that Mosher placed his girlfriend’s body in the trunk of the vehicle and went to his 57-year-old mother’s home to ask for help.
Police said that the mother and son attempted to clean the clothes and the car, removing the bloodstains. They then went to California Borough, where they left the vehicle near the library.
Meanwhile, Karoline Heintz’s family contacted police after she failed to return to her dormitory and had not communicated with them. During the search, officers found her body in the trunk of the car.
During questioning, Mosher told investigators that he had been “possessed by a demon” and that “the demons” had ordered him to commit the murder.
The 19-year-old was arrested on Thursday morning. He has been charged with murder, two counts of tampering with evidence, two counts of desecration of a corpse and obstruction of justice.
His mother was also arrested. She is charged with tampering with evidence, obstruction of justice, hindering the apprehension of a fugitive and desecration of a corpse.
As she was being escorted by police, the woman said that “she did not do it” and apologized to the victim’s family.
“I am sorry that my son took a life,” she said.
PennWest University also responded to the tragedy, expressing its condolences to the family and friends of the 18-year-old student.
“PennWest University expresses its deepest sorrow over the tragic death of Karoline Heintz, who was a first-year student. Our deepest condolences go to her family, friends and everyone affected by this tragedy,” the university said in a statement.
