The incident is thought to have occurred on August 15, during the holiday period when the area was particularly quiet. Bossi Pucci discovered the robbery as soon as she returned from vacation, even before entering her apartment, when she noticed that something was wrong.
According to preliminary investigative data, the perpetrators acted swiftly and meticulously, avoiding major damage to the residence. They allegedly took two safes containing jewelry, valuable objects, and artworks that are part of the owner’s personal collection.
The police of the Rome Security Directorate are also examining the possibility that the robbers had help from someone who knew the owner’s habits and was aware of what was stored in the apartment.
What has surprised investigators the most is the absence of visible signs of burglary. The apartment’s alarm is suspected to have been tampered with or deactivated, and the entire heist is believed to have been completed within about 15 minutes.
To reconstruct the perpetrators’ movements, investigators are reviewing security camera footage from the surrounding area. The focus is on suspicious individuals and vehicles that may have been used by a possible accomplice, who might have waited outside the building.
Meanwhile, the owner’s employees, associates, and the building’s doorman have been questioned. Forensic laboratories are also analyzing any fingerprints and other evidence that could help identify the perpetrators.
