Analyst Gëzim Mekuli has commented on the latest political situation in Kosovo, focusing on former US envoy Richard Grenell’s public support for six LDK MPs. These MPs have announced that they will not vote for Bekim Sejdiu as president.

In his response, Mekuli compared Grenell’s stance toward the LDK MPs with the activities of the “Serbs for Trump” organization in the United States.
According to the analyst, the organization is expected to hold an event in Dallas on September 9, which he described as propaganda against Albanians and Kosovo. According to him, Richard Grenell is among the invited guests.
Mekuli emphasized that Grenell, who was awarded the Order of the “Serbian Flag” by Aleksandar Vuçiq, continues to be present within Serbian political and lobbying circles in the US.
He also criticized the six LDK MPs, claiming that their actions are contributing to the paralysis of Kosovo’s institutions and daily life.
“Meanwhile, in Kosovo, the day before yesterday, Grenell publicly expressed support for the six wretched LDK MPs who, openly and without a shred of shame, character or ethics, are blocking Kosovo and the lives of the people of Kosovo,” he wrote.
The analyst described this clash as an “Albanian paradox.” He said that while Serbian lobbying against Kosovo is gaining strength in Washington, the “Grenellist spirit” is finding support among certain political representatives in Pristina.
“When Serbia lobbies aggressively in Washington, every institutional weakening of Kosovo serves precisely this anti-Kosovo lobbying,” Mekuli said.
In his response, he also posed a question to the six LDK MPs, calling into question whom their stance and the institutional blockades serve.
“When Grenell, who was decorated by Vuçiq, supports you, while Serbian lobbying in Washington is also growing stronger with Grenell’s involvement, should you not ask yourselves whom you are serving with these blockades?” Mekuli wrote.

According to Mekuli, at a time when Kosovo and its people are facing violence and institutional paralysis, the “Serbs for Trump” organization is mobilizing the Serbian-American community in the US through propaganda activities against Albanians and Kosovo. Among the guests invited to the event, Mekuli also mentions Richard Grenell, whom he describes as a name notorious in Kosovo but well regarded in Serbia.
He recalled that Grenell was awarded the Order of the “Serbian Flag” by Aleksandar Vuçiq and continues to appear within the orbit of Serbian politics and lobbying in the US. At the same time, according to him, Grenell publicly supported six LDK MPs the day before yesterday who are blocking Kosovo and the lives of its citizens.
“Dear readers,” Mekuli wrote, presenting the situation as a paradox. According to him, Serbian lobbying against Kosovo is being activated in Washington, with Grenell as a supporter, while in Pristina the Grenellist spirit is finding room among people who, as he put it, are holding Kosovo hostage.
Mekuli also addressed the LDK, PDK and AAK, describing them respectively as shattered, corrupt and mythologized. He urged them to understand that blocking the institutions is not merely an internal party confrontation.
According to him, at a time when Serbia is lobbying aggressively in Washington, every institutional weakening of Kosovo serves this anti-Kosovo lobbying, as well as the ideology of Ratko Mladiq and Millosheviq.
In conclusion, Mekuli repeated his question to the six LDK “blockers” and the Grenellist spirit in Kosovo: “When Grenell, who was decorated by Vuçiq, supports you, while Serbian lobbying in Washington is also growing stronger with Grenell’s involvement, should you not ask yourselves whom you are serving with these blockades?”
