Kosovo has entered a new phase in its wage policy, as the minimum wage has been raised to 500 euros, placing it above the minimum wage level in North Macedonia.
Around 150,000 private-sector workers are expected to benefit from this increase. Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti said that during his term, the minimum wage has been raised three times, moving from 130 and 170 euros to 250, then to 350, 425, and now 500 euros.

In North Macedonia, the net minimum wage stands at 26,046 denars, or around 423 euros, making Kosovo higher than the neighboring country on this economic indicator.
Kurti said that this change is part of policies aimed at raising living standards and that economic growth will continue to be accompanied by improved well-being for citizens.
