In a Facebook post, Hoxhaj published a photograph from a meeting he had held with Congressman Self in Pristina in May of this year. He said that during the meeting he had expressed deep concern over what he described as an unfair trial against KLA leaders in The Hague.
Hoxhaj said he had asked the U.S. congressman to support the conduct of a fair trial and the release of Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Rexhep Selimi and Jakup Krasniqi. According to him, the request also included raising the issue in the U.S. Congress.
The PDK lawmaker thanked Self for his position and for publicly opposing political influence on the justice system. He emphasized that the injustice against the freedom fighters had continued for far too long and that it must come to an end.
In conclusion, Hoxhaj stated that justice must prevail, while calling for Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Rexhep Selimi and Jakup Krasniqi to be fully acquitted and to return to Kosovo.
