After filing the request, PDK MPs Arian Tahiri and Përparim Gruda spoke to the media.
Tahiri said his party had asked the Constitutional Court to review the procedure used to vote in the government and to impose an interim measure. According to him, the Court’s intervention should restore legality and ensure that institutions function in accordance with the constitutional framework.
He stated that the request to review the vote on the government had already been submitted to the Constitutional Court. Tahiri warned that PDK would challenge every decision before the Court, stressing the importance of putting the country back on a constitutional path.
MP Përparim Gruda also confirmed that PDK had challenged the Assembly’s decision to establish the new executive.
Gruda said it was now up to the Constitutional Court to rule on the violations that, according to him, had been committed within the country’s fundamental institutions.
