Publicist Gëzim Mekuli has reacted to a statement by Serbian Minister Snezana Paunović, who said that if she had been in Slobodan Milošević’s position in 1998, she would have “ethnically cleansed Kosovo.”
In a social media post, Mekuli described the stance as a “Nazi call,” while criticizing Albanian authorities over what he considers a lack of an official response.

In his reaction, he also accused Prime Minister Edi Rama, describing his silence and his relationship with Serbia as unacceptable.
Mekuli’s full reaction follows:
Do not attack Paunović in Belgrade, but our “Paunović” in Tirana.
Snezana Paunović, a student of Čubrilović, Andrić and Milošević, a minister in the Serbian government, openly declared: “If I had been in Milošević’s position in 1998, I would have ethnically cleansed Kosovo.”
According to him, this is an open Nazi call, reviving the horrific memorandums of Vaso Čubrilović and Ivo Andrić on the extermination of Albanians, while it has received only shameful silence from official Tirana.
Edi dRama, where are you?
He writes that dRama, “like a clown in white sneakers,” wanders through the corridors of Paris, pats his friends in Belgrade on the shoulder, complains in Serbian media about the failure of the “Open Balkans” initiative with Vučić, and attacks protesters in Tirana and Albin Kurti in Pristina, meaning more than half of the Albanian nation.
According to Mekuli, Tirana’s disoriented political class is content with worn-out statements, proving that it is rotten, corrupt and cowardly in the face of what he calls a national threat from Serbian fascism.
Remaining silent when Nazi calls for ethnic cleansing against one’s own people are made, he says, constitutes outright treason.
A (non-)prime minister who does not have the courage to defend the dignity and existence of the nation in the face of Serbian fascism, he says, should leave politics as soon as possible.
He adds that protecting Albanians outside Albania’s borders is also a constitutional obligation.
Isn’t that right, you friend of Vučić and enemy of Albin Kurti?
