The Special Court against Corruption and Organized Crime (GJKKO) has remanded former police official Uljan Shpataraku in prison. He was arrested during the operation to apprehend businessman Ergys Agasi.

Following the court hearing, the GJKKO imposed the security measure of “arrest in prison” on him, leaving him behind bars as the investigation continues.
SPAK has charged Shpataraku with the criminal offense of “Aiding the perpetrator of a crime.”
It is recalled that on August 26, in the Plepa area of Durrës, Shpataraku was caught driving the vehicle in which Ergys Agasi was traveling. Agasi had been declared wanted by the justice authorities and had been on the run for around 8 months.
Immediately after his arrest, searches were also carried out at Shpataraku’s home in the capital, where, according to reports, an arsenal of weapons was seized from him. Specifically, 3 pistols, 2 shotgun-type weapons and 2 rifles, which he possessed legally.
