Police have prevented a serious criminal incident in the Mali i Robit area of Golem after stopping 47-year-old Melison Nela, who is suspected of traveling to a hotel to kill the people who had assaulted his nephew.

The incident came to light following a conflict at a hotel in the area. During the altercation, 18-year-old Genti Nela, who worked as a waiter, was assaulted over a dispute related to payment for work performed. The young man is currently at Kavaja Hospital, where he is receiving medical treatment.
After receiving the notification, officers from the Kavaja Police Commissariat and the Golem Police Station immediately went to the hotel, intervening to prevent the conflict from escalating.
During the initial investigation, police obtained operational information that the 18-year-old’s uncle, 47-year-old Melison Nela, a resident of Kavaja, had set off toward the hotel armed and intending to kill the people who had attacked his nephew.
The vehicle driven by the 47-year-old was stopped near the hotel. A search of the vehicle led to the discovery, inside a backpack, of an automatic Kalashnikov firearm, 3 magazines and 84 rounds of ammunition.
Investigative actions also showed that, after the conflict, the location where the incident had occurred had been cleaned. The security cameras’ DVR had also been removed and their cables had been cut.
Florian Habilaj, 28, and Enold Dragoti, 20, were arrested in flagrante delicto for the assault of the 18-year-old. Arbër Habilaj, 36, was declared wanted, while 36-year-old Melison Nela is being prosecuted while at liberty.
47-year-old Melison Nela, Genti Nela’s uncle, was also arrested in flagrante delicto after being found in the vehicle with the Kalashnikov, 3 magazines and 84 rounds.
According to police, the people involved in the young man’s assault are the hotel owner’s son and one of his friends, while the owner’s other son has been declared wanted. The owner’s son-in-law is being prosecuted while at liberty. They are suspected of assaulting the 18-year-old, who worked as a waiter at the hotel’s restaurant and is the nephew of the 47-year-old.
The initial investigative actions established that citizen F. H., in cooperation with citizens A. F., E. D. and M. M., had assaulted citizen G. N., 18, because he had not been paid for the work performed.
Police, in cooperation with the Prosecutor’s Office, are continuing the investigation to fully document the circumstances and legal aspects of the incident.
The procedural materials have been referred to the Prosecutor’s Office for further action.
