Democratic Party leader Sali Berisha has reacted to Prime Minister Edi Rama’s speech at an international forum held in Italy, where Albania’s integration into the European Union and the EU’s enlargement policy were discussed.

According to Berisha, Rama is attempting to attribute responsibility for Albania’s delays on the path to membership to Europe, while the real cause is linked to his governance and, as Berisha puts it, the construction of a “narco-state.”
“Rama says: ‘I have great faith in Europe,’ but in reality he has great faith in Lubia and drugs!” Berisha wrote in his reaction.
He claims that during the forum, Rama portrayed Europe as responsible for Albania’s failure to join the EU, just as, according to him, he had deceived people in 2027. Berisha also disputes Rama’s statement that Europe should thank Putin for its enlargement policy.
According to the Democratic Party leader, the integration of the Western Balkans into the European Union has been established in the EU’s founding documents since the Thessaloniki Summit and long before Russia’s aggression against Ukraine.
“Rama may thank Putin as much as he likes, but Europe is not responsible. The blame lies with the Godfather and his Lubias, who never tire of robbing Albanians. The one responsible is Ramaduro himself, who built the first and only narco-state in Europe,” Berisha said.
In conclusion, Berisha stated that Rama’s departure is the main condition for restoring the rule of law in Albania and ensuring the country’s secure progress.
