The United States Embassy in Tirana announced that SPAK is deepening its cooperation with international partners in the fight against organized crime and narcotics trafficking.

According to the embassy, the participation of SPAK representatives in the International Drug Enforcement Conference, IDEC40, was supported by the U.S. Department of Justice through the Office of Overseas Prosecutorial Development, Assistance and Training (OPDAT).
The meeting was held in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and brought together representatives of justice institutions and law enforcement agencies from various countries.
The conference focused on strengthening coordination to combat criminal networks operating internationally.
In Buenos Aires, the head of SPAK took part in activities organized by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).
Meanwhile, SPAK prosecutors held 12 high-level meetings with counterparts from the United States, Colombia, Ecuador, Ukraine, Paraguay and Argentina.
The U.S. Embassy stressed that IDEC40 is the leading global forum, sponsored by the United States, for the operational integration, coordination and harmonization of efforts against international criminal organizations, including U.S.-designated Foreign Terrorist Organizations.
According to the statement, the contacts established during the conference aim to improve information sharing and operational coordination between institutions.
This cooperation serves to combat international organized crime threats in Europe, Latin America and the United States, while strengthening SPAK’s relations with its international partners.
