The Ministry of Defense reports that 26 fire hotspots were recorded across the country over the past 24 hours, of which 4 remain active and 2 are under surveillance.

A total of 315 operational personnel and 25 firefighting vehicles have been deployed to deal with the situation, while 4 helicopters and 75 Armed Forces personnel have been used to support the operations.
The most problematic situation continues on Mount Dajti, particularly in the direction of Qafë-Priskë, where the fire has been observed to reignite and spread.
Today, the operation is continuing with 15 firefighters, 9 personnel from the Protected Areas Administration and 20 Armed Forces personnel.
In Dibër County, the fires at Qafë e Helmës, Vajkal and Sllatinë remain active. In Vajkal, 38 firefighting service/municipality personnel and 30 Armed Forces personnel are operating, while 91 personnel have been deployed in Sllatinë; no risk to populated areas has been reported in the latter location.
In Elbasan, the fires on Mount Dardhë and Mount Qukës are being monitored and pose no risk to populated areas.
The ministry also reported on the earthquake that struck the south of the country: “An earthquake measuring ML 4.7 was also recorded overnight, with its epicenter in the Vergo administrative unit, Delvinë Municipality, with no problems reported in the community or infrastructure.”
“The National Civil Protection Agency (AKMC) continues to monitor the situation uninterruptedly across the country, in close coordination with the prefectures, municipalities and all structures of the Civil Protection system. Operational capacities remain deployed in the field and on standby to intervene wherever the situation requires, with priority given to protecting people’s lives, homes and property,” the statement said.
