Following the tragic accident on Durrës beach, in which a 66-year-old man lost his life, the court ruled that the 26-year-old taxi driver should remain in pretrial detention until the conclusion of the investigation.

The Durrës Court imposed the security measure of “Arrest in prison” on Talelli the previous day, while also deeming his arrest in flagrante delicto lawful.
The 26-year-old is being investigated for the criminal offense of “Violation of road traffic rules,” as he is suspected of having been the driver of the vehicle involved in the accident that resulted in the death of 66-year-old Fezi Dine, who had been walking peacefully on the sidewalk.
The court’s decision keeps Talelli in pretrial detention, while the investigation will continue to clarify the full circumstances of the accident. Preliminary investigations indicate that the accident was caused by the taxi driver’s negligence.
He is accused of the criminal offense provided for under Article 290/3 of the Criminal Code.
When a violation of road traffic rules causes the death of a person, the Criminal Code provides for a sentence of between two and ten years in prison.
