Former head of the Saranda Police Station, Gëzim Bashllari, will be investigated while free after the Court of Appeals accepted a request from his lawyer, Sokol Tahiraj.

Under the new ruling, the security measure against Bashllari was changed from “detention in prison” to “obligation to report”.
After reviewing the defense’s request, the court ruled that the former police official must report in accordance with its orders while the investigation continues.
Bashllari and four other heads of the Saranda Police Station were arrested by the AMP in May, on suspicion that they had favored illegal construction in Saranda and Ksamil.
