According to doctor Agim Hasko, the increased cases are mainly linked to sunstroke and heatstroke. Those receiving medical care included foreign tourists travelling through the territory of the Municipality of Belsh. After receiving the necessary assistance, they returned to their families.

Hasko says the heat has also worsened underlying illnesses in some patients, particularly those suffering from heart problems. He confirms that the number of cases presenting each day ranges from 7 to 10.

The groups most exposed to risk during these hot days are people with chronic illnesses, elderly people over the age of 65-70, and children.

The doctor recommends that citizens avoid going out in the sun during the peak heat period, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Whenever possible, they should stay close to their families and avoid moving about under the sun’s rays.

Special care is required for chronically ill patients, who, in addition to avoiding exposure during the hottest hours, should strictly adhere to taking their medication.

An increase in heat-related problems is also being observed at health centres, at a time when high temperatures have gripped the country and the heat has become another health concern.
