According to Gjini, the Alliance has long denounced what he describes as a “dishonest game” by Kurti and his political party.

“Therefore, today’s position of the Democratic League of Kosovo not to participate in a government with Kurti is right and principled, and I welcome it as such,” Gjini wrote.

He claims that Kurti is seeking to place the institutions and the state—which, in Gjini’s words, “he is degrading every day”—under his complete control.

Emphasizing that Kosovo must not end up under the control of a single person, the Alliance leader reiterated the six conditions his party has set for any future government.

The Alliance’s demands are: accepting American gas; building energy capacity; completing key infrastructure; raising the VAT threshold for small businesses; exempting farmers from property tax; and investing in the capital.
