A British family’s holiday in the Dominican Republic ended in tragedy after 16-year-old Abbie Lainton was killed in a “horrific accident,” while her sister and brother suffered serious injuries.

The teenager from Swindon died on July 30. Her sister, Carley, and brother, Bradley, were also seriously injured in the same incident.
No details have yet been released about the exact circumstances that put the lives of the three young people at risk.
Abbie attended the Tanwood School for Performing Arts and had been dancing since she was young.
According to the school, the 16-year-old always took to the stage with a big smile and had formed close friendships with her peers.
In a statement, the school said: “We are all in complete shock at this heartbreaking news. We send all our love and support to her family and friends at this unimaginable time.”
Relatives, friends, former schoolmates and members of her sports club have joined in paying tribute to Abbie, posting messages and sharing memories in her honor.
A fundraising campaign was also launched following the tragedy to help the 16-year-old’s family. So far, the initiative has raised more than £5,000.
Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine the circumstances of the accident that claimed the British teenager’s life and left two other family members seriously injured.
