At a press conference held today, Deputy Transport Minister Kaltrina Zekolli Shaqiri said that DUI has for years used the Skopje-Blace highway project as a tool for gathering votes.
She said that the signing of the contract for the construction of the second segment of this highway shows that, as she put it, “projects are not carried out through propaganda, but through work.”

“They promised it in 2008, repeated it in 2011, 2014, 2017, 2020, and again in 2023. After all these promises, citizens saw only around 2 km of road. For VLEN, patriotism is measured through work. After many years of waiting, the Skopje-Blace road is finally moving from promise to implementation,” said Zekolli-Shaqiri.
