Stojance Angelov, director of the Directorate for Protection and Rescue, said in an interview for “Top Top” on Telma TV that he has secured the procedure for the engagement of two more pilots, who are essential for the firefighting aircraft.
He explained that their employment will be carried out immediately after approval is received from the Ministry of Finance.

Angellov stressed that he is waiting for the budget revision, adding that there is no rush, since the pilots he plans to hire will be sent for training during October-November. According to him, one of them is younger and has less experience, while the other is a top-class pilot with many flight hours both on airplanes and helicopters. He took the opportunity to call on all pilots who have more than 400 flight hours, regardless of the type of aircraft, to come forward and speak with him.
He also underlined that his goal is to secure three more “Air Tractors,” including a two-seater aircraft, so that training can be carried out independently.
Angellov also stated that, with the hiring of retired Colonel Malezanski and the engagement of Vasko Mihalcev, whom he described as one of the retired hero pilots, there is now a solid foundation for trainings to be carried out independently in the coming period. According to him, both are excellent personnel, while Malezanski is also a test pilot, which represents the pinnacle of aviation.
