VLEN: North Macedonia advances air transport with modern technology and European standards

According to VLEN, air transport in North Macedonia is moving forward steadily thanks to investments in safety, technology, and the addition of connections to new destinations.

The ruling party emphasized that VLEN representatives in institutions are showing that standards which until yesterday were considered unattainable can be achieved through commitment and continuous work.

The party’s statement says that, as part of this development, Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications Kaltrina Zekolli took part in the launch of the new tomographic system for the security screening of carry-on baggage. According to them, the 1 million euro investment places North Macedonia among the countries applying the most advanced technologies in this sector, while it is the first system of its kind in the Balkans.

VLEN underlines that the development is not limited only to technological modernization. Over the past two years, 28 new air destinations have been opened, while for this year the number of passengers is expected to exceed 3.5 million. According to the party, these figures show that the new policies are consolidating the country’s position as an increasingly important air transport hub in the region.

In conclusion to its reaction, the party says that governance should be measured by results and not by rhetoric. It adds that every investment that increases safety, improves services, and expands opportunities for citizens is part of the vision for a modern, developed North Macedonia that is more connected to Europe and the world.
