After concluding the fact-finding mission in the Vjosa-Narta protected area, MEP Tineke Strik, the Greens Group negotiator for the European Parliament’s report on Albania, issued a statement to the media calling for European Union standards to be applied to construction in protected areas.
“Private land must also comply with European standards,” she stressed.

Strik also underlined that efforts in the fight against corruption must be intensified.
“We are satisfied with SPAK, which is able to do its job, and everyone should cooperate with them. Politicians should not be supported or protected from any investigation, because justice must be carried out to clean up your house,” MEP Tineke Strik said.
She added that she will continue to support Albania’s European path and that she does not want to become an obstacle in this process.
