Maximum readiness urged in Berat for the tourist season, Sula: AKU should step up inspections

During a meeting with all regional inspectorates in Berat County, Chief Inspector General Dashnor Sula called on institutions to be on full alert to prevent any problems that may arise during the summer tourist season.

He warned that any entity that pollutes the river or the environment will be punished with fines.

Sula stressed that the increase in the number of tourists requires special attention from AKU in order to avoid any problems. According to him, inspections should be increased so that difficult situations do not arise in restaurants, hotels or guesthouses.

The Chief Inspector also said that during this season, the Hygiene Inspectorate and the Health Inspectorate will also be on full alert.

“Of course, institutions will continue their work and carry out their economic activity, but within all the rules,” he said.

Among other things, Sula said he has a detailed report from every institution under his authority on the problems encountered, with one of the most important issues remaining the environmental devastation caused for years by the operation of companies extracting decorative stone slabs from Mount Tomori.
