Sali Berisha, chairman of the Democratic Party, reacted after the clashes that occurred between protesters and the State Police outside Parliament, where arrests were also reported during the protest.
In his statement, he condemned the police’s actions against the citizens who were protesting, describing them as serious and unacceptable.

According to Berisha, while efforts are being made inside Parliament to downplay the protest, outside citizens are facing intervention by police forces.
He interprets this state response as a sign of fear of the protest and as an inability to answer citizens’ demands with arguments.
Berisha also stressed that the use of force against peaceful protesters is, in his view, an indication of the arrogance of those in power.
Finally, he demands that all those arrested during the protest be released immediately.
