The Regulatory Commission (KRr) at the Central Election Commission yesterday approved several additions to decision no. 3, dated November 6, 2020, “On the approval of the regulation on the functioning and conduct of the sessions of the Complaints and Sanctions Commission (CAS),” as amended.
These changes have been undertaken to strengthen the standards of transparency, integrity, and impartiality in the review and decision-making process of the Complaints and Sanctions Commission.

The decision stipulates that CAS members are obliged to perform their functions independently, objectively, and impartially, in accordance with the principles of the rule of law and the fair administration of electoral processes.
At the same time, new rules have also been added concerning the declaration and management of conflicts of interest during the review of cases and in decision-making, with the aim of guaranteeing the impartiality of the decision-making process.
Another important change provides that CAS decisions be published on the CEC’s official website, as a measure to increase transparency and expand public access to the institution’s decision-making.
