Environment Minister Fitore Pacolli announced that the contractor who illegally opened a road in the Lybeniq mountains has been fined €1,000.
According to Pacolli, after receiving reports of the road’s construction, officials from Bjeshkët e Nemuna National Park went to the site with police. They filed an official report against the contractor and issued a mandatory fine of €1,000. This is the second case recorded at the same location.

Pacolli said prosecutors had also been notified and that further legal action would be taken. She stressed that activities harming nature would not be allowed and that the mountains would be protected through every available legal mechanism.
