Lumturije Vuçetaj, chief prosecutor at the Basic Prosecution Office in Peja, was suspended on Thursday by the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council (KPC) during an extraordinary meeting.
According to sources cited by “Betimi për Drejtësi,” the measure was taken following a recommendation by State Chief Prosecutor Zejnullah Gashi. The suspension received seven votes in favor.

The KPC also established an investigative panel, as disciplinary proceedings against Vuçetaj are expected to begin.
The decision follows the killing of Arlinda Zekaj on October 25, 2025. She had repeatedly sought protection from the state while fighting for custody of her son.
