News that the surgery was successful brought relief, while the full recovery of his vision remains a process that doctors will assess in the coming days.

The 28-year-old was injured in his left eye after being hit by an object believed to have been a rubber bullet during a clash with police. After the incident, he was rushed to the Trauma Hospital.

Because of the serious injury and the need for specialized treatment, Vishkulli was later sent to Italy.

On October 25, he announced that he had arrived in Rome, where he was expected to undergo another operation, hoping he would be able to save his sight.
