This Thursday, Finance Minister Petrit Malaj is presenting the draft law on the 2027 budget to the Conference of Chairpersons.
The Democratic Party, meanwhile, announced that it had boycotted the Conference of Chairpersons, arguing that it had not been provided with any documents on the draft budget, the explanatory reports, or the financial documentation due to be presented.

During his speech, Malaj said that the pensioners’ bonus would be doubled. According to him, the baby bonus would be increased progressively, extending until the child reaches the age of five.
“More than 10 billion lek in public spending, the highest ever, with more money for pensions, healthcare, social protection, education, as well as defense and security. These are areas where the state’s responsibility is measured. There are three fundamental priorities: social welfare, fiscal stability, and investment, reforms and European integration.
Indexation will take place in April 2027, and the pensioners’ bonus will also be doubled, to a value of 20 billion lek. Until the child reaches the age of five, the value of the baby bonus will increase progressively,” Malaj said.
