A gun attack at a bar southwest of Johannesburg, South Africa, has left 17 people dead and 15 others injured.

The serious incident took place late Saturday evening at a bar in the Wendela area, in Gauteng province. Police said that eight armed men entered the bar and opened fire on the customers.
According to preliminary information, the attackers used AK-47 rifles and pistols, firing indiscriminately inside the bar.
Three women are among the victims. All 17 people were found inside the bar, while emergency teams confirmed that they had died.
Meanwhile, the 15 injured people were taken to hospital, where they are receiving the necessary medical treatment.
Police forces have launched an operation to arrest the eight perpetrators, who remain at large. The motives for the attack have not yet been determined.
