A powerful fire has engulfed the waste disposal site in Fushë-Krujë, with flames spreading across the entire area. The scale of the fire has made the work of firefighting crews more difficult, while initial suspicions are that it may have been deliberately started.

The flames remain active, but no risk has been reported so far to the homes near the site. Because of the nature of the waste, firefighting operations are proving difficult. A bulldozer is also being used at the scene to cover the waste with soil.
