Hysni Patushi told investigators that he repeatedly asked his wife to return to their home, but she refused. According to him, he called her this morning and Lumturie Patushi told him she was at a shopping center. However, the 68-year-old said he went to their daughter’s house and found her there, which is how, according to him, he realized that she had lied to him.
“During the argument, I stabbed her in the heart,” he told police officers.
The incident took place at around 10:30 this morning on Panorama Street. After the crime, the 68-year-old fled the scene, but was apprehended and arrested by Tirana police in the Kamza area around two hours later. What makes the incident even more serious is that the crime is suspected to have occurred in the presence of the couple’s underage grandson and son-in-law.
The full circumstances of the incident have not yet been made public. Police and the investigative team are continuing their work to fully document the incident and establish its circumstances.
