A legal dispute has erupted between 38-year-old gigolo Craig Starr and 49-year-old New Yorker Marian Flipo. Flipo accuses Starr of defrauding her of €5.2 million.

The case has also been accompanied by the publication of photographs and videos showing changes in Starr’s appearance following several cosmetic procedures.
The material appeared on the accounts of plastic surgeon Jason Emer. It shows Starr before and after the procedures, including liposuction and other interventions to reshape his body and face. Emer described the result as part of an aesthetic standard he calls “Maxoris.”
In one of the videos, Starr appears pleased with the result and praises the surgeon, saying that he had combined “scientific precision with art and beauty.”
The lawsuit centers on Starr’s relationship with Flipo. She says she believed a romantic relationship had developed between them, but claims that Starr and people connected to the escort agency manipulated her into giving them millions of dollars.
According to court documents, everything began in December 2024, several months after Flipo had lost her husband, Chad Flipo. The couple had been married for 28 years and had three children.
Flipo suffered from a rare genetic disorder and, because she had to travel to Italy for treatment, sought a companion who spoke Italian.
Through an acquaintance, she was connected with the company “Cowboys 4 Angels.” The lawsuit states that Flipo initially thought the company provided personal assistants, not escort services. She paid around $27,000 for the trip, where she met Craig Starr.
Flipo claims that they slept in separate rooms during the trip, but continued communicating after returning to the United States. According to her, the relationship later became personal.
By December 2025, Starr had moved into her home in New York, while Flipo had paid more than $450,000 for him to work exclusively for her.
On April 30, 2026, Flipo bought a historic residence in Manhattan for around €14 million. Her lawyer says she purchased the property with the intention of living there with Starr.
The property, known as Lanier House, is a six-story residence built in 1903 in the Beaux-Arts style. It spans around 1,081 square meters and has 12 bedrooms, more than nine bathrooms, a wine cellar, a wooden elevator and a wellness area with a cold plunge pool and cedar sauna.
Lawyer Larry Hatcher has stated that the purchase of the residence was directly connected to the relationship between the two people.
A central element of the dispute is an agreement that Flipo claims she was pressured to sign so that Starr would leave the escort agency and continue his relationship with her.
According to her, the document stipulated a sum of €8.6 million and was signed during a trip to Atlanta, at a time when she was recovering from surgery and taking powerful medication.
Flipo initially tried to transfer the entire amount, but the bank canceled the transaction because of suspicions of fraud. Later, according to the lawsuit, she transferred €5.2 million into a joint account with Starr.
Flipo says Starr then transferred €4.9 million from that account into another account under his control.
Afterward, she sought the help of a lawyer to review the agreement and filed a lawsuit in Manhattan Supreme Court, seeking the return of the money.
Starr has denied the allegations and presented a different version of events.
In a statement to the “New York Post,” he said the funds were used for personal expenses, the couple’s shared expenses and charitable donations. According to him, around €2.6 million remained.
He also denied forcing Flipo to sign the agreement.
“I wanted financial security. I wanted to leave the agency and genuinely try to have a relationship because I was in love with her more than anything else,” Starr said.
Starr claimed that he, too, had been a victim of Flipo’s abusive behavior, while describing their relationship as a “crazy adventure.”
Todd Spodeck, Starr’s lawyer, said the lawsuit reflects only Flipo’s version of events. According to him, the evidence presented during the proceedings will help determine what really happened.
The legal proceedings are ongoing, and the claims of both parties are expected to be examined during the trial.
