On September 16, 2026, the Kosovo Mountain Search and Rescue Service (ShKShMK) received an emergency call from the Kukës District Directorate, which requested assistance in joining the search efforts.
Immediately after the call, ShKShMK teams were mobilized and joined local forces in searching the area, coordinating their actions with the local authorities.
After several hours of focused searching, the minor was located safe and well and handed over to his family. In its official statement, ShKShMK emphasized that the operation reaffirms the value of an immediate response, cooperation between institutions and the dedication of search-and-rescue teams to act in critical situations. They also expressed their gratitude to all parties involved, praising the commitment and cooperation demonstrated during the mission.
