Shqipe Mehmeti-Selimi has spoken out for the first time after her husband, former KLA leader Rexhep Selimi, was sentenced to 13 years in prison by the Kosovo Specialist Chambers in The Hague.
Her response came one day after the verdict was announced, through a photograph posted on Facebook.

The image shows her son and daughter holding the flag of the Kosovo Liberation Army together.
Mehmeti-Selimi accompanied the photograph with a brief message: “Under the shadow of this flag, always proud, always strong!”
Rexhep Selimi was sentenced to 13 years in prison by the trial panel of the Kosovo Specialist Chambers in The Hague as part of the first-instance judgment.
