At the Tabanoc, Qafë Thanë and Blace border crossings, the Customs Administration has activated 30 body cameras for customs officers, provided through a donation from the U.S. Department of Justice.

The devices will record procedures carried out in the course of their duties, while the footage may later be used as evidence in misdemeanor and criminal proceedings.
According to Customs Director Boban Nikollovski, the system is intended to enhance employee safety, increase transparency and improve the fight against corruption.
U.S. Deputy Ambassador Nicole Warns said the devices would help prevent illegal activities and combat drug trafficking, human trafficking and organized crime.
Warns added that the donation is part of the partnership between the United States and North Macedonia.
