After the verdict was handed down against four former KLA leaders in The Hague, the sons of Hashim Thaçi and Kadri Veseli left the court without commenting to the media.

Endrit Thaçi, Hashim Thaçi’s son, was seen leaving the courtroom after the hearing ended. Tearful and visibly distressed, he chose not to comment on the verdict by the trial panel, which sentenced his father to 25 years in prison.
Kadri Veseli’s son, Klestor Veseli, also left without saying a word to reporters. Veseli himself was sentenced to 18 years in prison.
In its first-instance verdict, the trial panel found Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Rexhep Selimi and Jakup Krasniqi guilty of a series of war crimes.
The verdict provides for 25 years in prison for Thaçi, 18 years for Veseli, 13 years for Selimi and 25 years for Krasniqi. In total, the sentences of the four former KLA leaders amount to 81 years in prison.
As this is a first-instance verdict, the parties have the right to appeal.
