The chairman of Albania’s Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has commented on the verdict expected to be announced tomorrow in The Hague for former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army, Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selimi.
According to Berisha, not a single piece of evidence supporting the charges against them was presented during the six-year trial.

“Tomorrow is a special day. In The Hague, after a lengthy six-year trial, the court will announce the verdict reached some time ago for Kosovo’s former political leaders,” he wrote.
Berisha said that those who have followed the trial have neither heard nor read any testimony supporting the charges for which the former KLA leaders were arrested.
“For this reason, for every Albanian, there can be only one verdict for Kosovo’s former political leaders: their acquittal and nothing but their acquittal. We hope that they will return as innocent as they are, proud and heroes of Kosovo’s liberation,” the statement continued.
He also condemned threats against Kosovo, its order, peace and security in the event that the Hague Court hands down a different verdict.
“These threats are absolutely unacceptable, absurd and condemnable. Kosovo cannot pay any price for an unjust court decision,” Berisha declared on Facebook.
