The government has decided to reduce VAT from 18% to 10% as a measure to directly ease the impact of the significant rise in prices on citizens and the economy. The decision comes amid a crisis created by the possibility of problems with the supply of diesel and petroleum products.

Government calculations show that this tax change will significantly moderate the expected rise in fuel prices.
For one litre of diesel, instead of the usual projected increase of around 5 denars, a decrease of approximately 2 denars is expected.
Overall, the measure will moderate the price increase by around 7 denars, while the new price is expected to be approximately 99 denars per litre.
For petrol, calculations project an increase of around 3.5 denars. Thus, one litre of EUROSUPER BS-95 is expected to cost approximately 100.5 denars, while EUROSUPER BS-98 is expected to cost around 102.5 denars.
