The protest began in Skanderbeg Square, continued with a stop outside the Prime Minister’s Office, and then moved toward the Embassy of Montenegro. The march was held in opposition to the stopping of a convoy carrying Albanians from the diaspora in Niksic.

During the rally, protesters chanted slogans against the government and Prime Minister Edi Rama, while also calling for his arrest and that of former Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku.

The protest ended with the slogan, “More tomorrow!”, through which participants announced that the action would continue.

A national rally is expected to take place on Saturday, with Albanians from the diaspora who have travelled to Albania also set to participate. Organisers have called for mass participation in the next protest.
