Milazim Maraj, one of the well-known commanders of the Koshare war, reacted to the statement by Serb List MP Igor Simić in an interview with “Bota sot.” According to him, Simić’s position constitutes an attempt to politically sabotage Kosovo’s institutions.

Maraj also criticized the reaction of Serbian official Petar Petković in Belgrade, who linked the postponement of the session of the Kosovo Assembly to pressure on Serbs in Kosovo.
He said that the Serb List is obstructing the functioning of Kosovo’s institutions, while describing Petković’s claims as unfounded. Maraj stressed that the Serbian official does not compare the rights of Albanians in the Preševo Valley, but continues to claim that Kosovo is part of Serbia, even 27 years after it broke away through war.
According to Maraj, such a position is to be expected from a state he describes as criminal, one that glorifies criminals sentenced to life imprisonment and has expressed neither sorrow nor an apology for the victims caused by its army and policies. He added that Serbia continues to claim Kosovo’s territory without showing remorse for the crimes committed, even though Kosovo has been recognized by 120 states.
Referring to the Serb List’s activities in Kosovo, Maraj called for the party to be declared a terrorist organization. He accused it of terrorizing Albanians and of now exerting pressure on the Serb population in Kosovo as well.
Maraj said the list should be punished as soon as possible for the actions it has allegedly carried out since the end of the war and continues to carry out today. He mentioned the continued movement of weapons into the north, as well as threats and blackmail against Kosovo citizens whose views differ from those of Belgrade’s criminal leadership.
According to him, the statement by the Serb representative in the Assembly is intended to sabotage the institution, creating the impression that Kosovo and its Assembly are part of Serbia and that the oath is being taken in the name of the Serbian people. Maraj argued that such an oath could be taken in Serbia, whereas in Kosovo the people are the people of Kosovo, and the oath cannot be linked to Serbian or Russian dreams and hopes.
He said that the Kosovo Assembly should not accept Igor Simić even if he withdraws the statement which, according to Maraj, denies the institution before which he is taking the oath. According to him, Simić’s intentions became clear even before his election to the Assembly.
Maraj also raised the issue of the reserved seats for the Serb community in the Kosovo Assembly. He called on the Serb List to propose another name; otherwise, he said, Simić should not be part of the Assembly.
He stressed that the Serb representative had forgotten that the Serb community has ten reserved seats, which Maraj described as unjust. According to him, it was not right to reserve ten parliamentary mandates for those who “burned Kosovo” and killed more than 13,000 innocent Albanians.
Maraj said that Simić is using this opportunity to sabotage the institutions instead of facing the punishment he, according to Maraj, deserved. He suggested that the issue be reviewed together with the allies, while calling on Kosovo’s Serbs to break away from the tutelage of Serbia’s and Russia’s criminal regimes, which, he said, have exerted uninterrupted pressure since the end of the war.
Maraj subsequently opposed Igor Simić’s candidacy for the post of deputy speaker of the Assembly. He described Simić’s statement as unconstitutional and called for not only its rejection, but also for the candidate to be barred from taking up the position.
Maraj repeated his call for the Serb List to be declared a terrorist organization, saying that sufficient information about the group’s terrorist activities has existed since its establishment.
According to him, the European Union and the democratic world are becoming increasingly convinced every day that indulging criminals does not bring peace. He said the attempt to entice Serbia had been futile and that the strategy of the EU and the democratic world had failed, an assessment that, he claimed, is being repeated with increasing frequency.
Maraj described the presence of the Serb List in the Kosovo Parliament as a “Serbo-Russian bomb” controlled by these two centers. He concluded that he does not expect genuine cooperation from it for peace, understanding and a peaceful life in Kosovo.
