The hearing in the “Macedonia Lottery” case was suspended after defendant Bashkim Avdiu requested that the indictment be translated into Albanian.

Former Deputy Prime Minister Artan Grubi, former State Lottery director Përparim Bajrami—who is being tried in absentia—as well as Metodija Dimevski, Skender Mehmeti, Bojan Janev, Fatmir Ramadanovski, Aleksandar Dimitrioski and Bashkim Avdiu are in the defendants’ dock.
During the hearing, Artan Grubi declared himself not guilty before the trial panel of all charges related to the case.
The prosecution, meanwhile, has updated its calculation of the alleged damage. According to the new assessment, the amount stands at 596,125,511 denars, or around €9.7 million, while it had previously been estimated at around €8 million.
