After the plenary session ended, a group of young women shouted at Socialist MPs Iris Luarasi and Sara Mila as they were leaving the Assembly chamber. “Thieves! Rama’s rubber stamps! Ministry of Education, run away as soon as you can,” the protesters shouted after another plenary session marked by considerable tension.
During today’s session, Democratic Party MPs blocked the speaker’s podium, banged on desks and held up banners in support of the students’ protest, disrupting the normal conduct of parliamentary proceedings.
