This 134th protest comes after more than four months of uninterrupted resistance on the streets, with organizers and activists on the ground declaring unequivocally that there will be no retreat or withdrawal until their political demands are met in full.
In addition to the prime minister’s resignation, the protest’s official platform has reiterated the urgent need to establish a transitional technocratic government with a 12-month mandate, which would ensure sweeping reform of the country’s political and electoral systems.
The citizens gathered have also expressed strong opposition to a series of legislative initiatives passed by the parliamentary majority, which they say directly undermine the interests of the public and citizens.
While the protest campaign will continue with intensity in the coming days, October 13 is expected to be one of the key moments in this wave of opposition.
Organizers have issued a broad appeal to students, young people and Albanian youth to join the protest on that date, to deliver a fresh political blow to what they describe as state capture and systemic corruption.
